
Texas Tech Snaps Missouri Win Streak

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The University of Missouri baseball team saw its five-game winning streak come to an end as Texas Tech handed the Tigers a 10-2 loss Saturday afternoon in Big 12 Conference action at Taylor Stadium/Simmons Field.
Missouri falls to 18-11-1 overall and 6-8 in the Big 12 while the Red Raiders are now 22-13 and 7-7 in league play.
The Red Raiders scored four runs in the third inning after one out. Texas Tech used three hits and two Missouri errors to score the four runs. The Tigers answered with a pair of runs in the bottom half of the inning as Jayce Tingler singled and Jon Williams hit a two-run home run to right field. The home run was Williams' fifth of the season.
Texas Tech added runs in the fifth and eight innings to take a 6-2 lead before scoring four times in the ninth inning. Tyler Carson, who had three hits to lead Texas Tech, hit a three-run shot to right field to make it 10-2.
Tingler extended his hitting streak to nine games.
The teams are scheduled to close the three-game series Sunday at 1 p.m.
