Three Provisionally Qualify In Track and Field

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Senior high jumper Jay Meystedt and junior miler Ann Marie Brooks recorded provisional marks at the Meyo Invitational Saturday evening. Meystedt and Brooks join sophomore thrower Christian Cantwell, who qualified on day one of competition Friday.
Meystedt won the high jump at 7-1, while Brooks took the mile in 4:45.04. She was followed by sophomore Kerry Hils (4:49.07) and senior Katie Meyer (4:57.08). Also winning for the Tigers was senior Michelle Moran, who won the high jump at 5-7. Sophomore Christi Myers (5-5) was second, senior Eli Sommerfeldt (5-1) was fourth and sophomore Abbe Ohneck (5-1) was fifth.
Cantwell also recorded a provisional mark in the shot put (58-4.5) and took second. He was followed by fellow sophomore Russ Bell (55-9.25)
Senior Sunny Gilbert placed third in the 800m (2:09.68), sophomores Amy Semith and Fiona Asigbee turned in fourth place performances in the 1000m and the 60 low hurdles respectively.
The Tigers travel to Ames, Iowa Feb. 9-10, to compete in the Cyclone Invitational.
