ISU would play the Tigers much tougher in Game 2. The Cyclones would trail the Tigers by only one at 17-16 to begin the game. However, Mizzou would go on a 13-6 run the rest of the way, mostly thanks to the solid play of junior Christi Myers who put down seven kills and two block assists in the game, as the Tigers took a 30-22 Game 2 win. Myers would go on to register her seventh double-double of the season putting down 12 kills and picking up 10 digs and recording four block assists.
Iowa State would have a lead for most of Game 3 and for the last time at 20-19. The Tigers were able to hold off a late charge by ISU and take the game, 30-26 and the match, 3-0. Sowers had an excellent night in the back row picking up 17 digs while also slating three service winners.
Head coach Susan Kreklow said that while the win wasn't pretty, the Tigers were able to keep their composure and focus.
"We played well in Games 1 and 2 and had a momentary lapse of concentration in Game 3." Kreklow said. "Iowa State showed great hustle Game 3 and kept us off balance, but we were able to regroup and finish strong."
