Men's Golf Takes 12th at Louisiana Classic

Lafayette, La. - The University of Missouri men's golf team finished in 12th place at the Louisiana Classic, which wrapped up today at the Oakbourne Country Club, in Lafayette, La. Missouri tied with Rice for 12th in the 15-team tournament, as the two schools shot indentical three-round totals of 924. Arizona claimed the team title with a score of 869.
Individually, Missouri was paced by senior David Suggs, who tied for 33rd place overall with a three-round total of 226. Suggs was tied for 16th after opening rounds of 74 and 73, but a final-round 79 dropped him to 33rd.
Sophomore Neal Stafford recovered from an opening-round 81 to finish in a tie for 56th place individually, with a three-round total of 231. Stafford posted closing rounds of 74 and 76 for the tournament.
Sophomores Mark McBride and Cory Ewert were next up for the Tigers, as they finished one stroke apart, in 64th and 65th place, respectively. McBride had a three-round total of 234, while Ewert posted a 235.
Freshman Shawn Fleming finished in a tie for 73rd place overall, with a total of 240, while junior Blayne Rosely tied for 61st place, with a score of 233. Rosely participated as an individual.
Next up for Head Coach Tim Robyn's Tigers is the Stevinson Ranch Invitational, to be held March 27-28 in Turlock, Calif.
