COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) - Kareem Rush scored 23 points and Clarence Gilbert snapped a prolonged shooting slump with 19 as Missouri pulled away in the second half for an 86-72 victory over Nebraska Wednesday night.
Rush, making only his second start, was 4-for-7 from 3-point range and 7-for-11 overall as Missouri (17-10, 10-5 Big 12) ended a three-game losing streak at the Hearnes Center. The Tigers, who rebounded from a 27-point loss Saturday at Oklahoma, hadn't lost that many in a row since 1992-93.
Gilbert, who had shot 26 percent the previous nine games, was 5-for-11 from 3-point range. Missouri also got 13 points from Keyon Dooling and shot 48 percent, its best in nine games.
Kimani Ffriend had 21 points and 11 rebounds for Nebraska (11-17, 4-11), which has lost 11 in a row on the road dating to last season. The Cornhuskers, who have lost seven of eight overall, are 0-8 on the road this season.
Rush scored Missouri's first eight points, including two 3-pointers, and had 11 points in the half. The Tigers led by as many as 11 points, but the gap was only two, 44-42, at the break after Matt Davison hit a 3-pointer off the glass at the buzzer for Nebraska.
After Nebraska cut the margin to five points, Gilbert hit a pair of 3-pointers in a span of 29 seconds for a 61-49 lead with 13:11 to go. Rush later scored seven straight points for Missouri, which stretched the advantage to as many as 21 points.
Missouri has beaten Nebraska five straight times at home and has won six of the last eight games in the series. The Tigers won 84-78 at Lincoln, Neb., Feb. 5, and swept Nebraska for the first time since 1994.
Missouri four-year starter Jeff Hafer had six points and six rebounds in his final home game.
Steffon Bradford and Louis Truscott added 12 points apiece for Nebraska.
