
Missouri Takes First Swim Meet Of The Season

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The University of Missouri swimming and diving team kicked off the 2000-2001 season with a home win over the University of Arkansas women and the University of Missouri at Rolla.
The MU women defeated Arkansas 199-101 and were led by sophomores Leslie Hoh, Sarah Stowe and freshman Sarah Lo, who all won their individual events. Hoh and Lo also team up with seniors Jeanna Willi and Kim Lambert to take the 200-yard medley.
Missouri men defeated UM-Rolla 171-91. The men were led by sophomore Matt Ferrarelli, who won the 100-yd backstroke and senior Aaron Lo, who took first in the 100-yd breaststroke. Sophomore Radu Miclaus and freshman Tyler Belanger also contributed in the 200-yd medley relay.
The Missouri men divers swept the field with sophomore Jason Otte taking the three and five meter events. The MU women divers were led by Kristy Warner, who won the three-meter dive and took second in the one-meter.
Next week, the Missouri swimming and diving team travels to Lawrence, Kans., to compete in the Big 12 Relay meet Fri., Oct. 27.
