
Eastern Illinois Becomes Latest Tiger Victim

COLUMBIA, Mo.- Julie Helm scored 30 points and Missouri won it's seventh straight game on Saturday night with a victory over Eastern Illinois, 90-57 at Lantz Gym in Charleston, Ill. The seven-game win streak is Mizzou's longest since the 1992-93 season.
The Tigers (8-1) never trailed in the game. Missouri ran out to a 22-8 lead led by 12 points by Helm in the first six minutes, 35 seconds of the game. Back-to-back three-pointers by Tracy Franklin upped the Mizzou lead to 30-10 at the 9:52 mark. The Tigers led 47-23 at the half.
Missouri's starters saw very little action in the second half. Helm, who tallied 16 first half points, added 14 more in less than 10 minutes in the second stanza. She finished 11-for-15 from the field. Freshman Kerensa Barr contributed with eight points and added four steals and three assists. Fellow frosh Melissa Statham also enjoyed her best night as a Tiger netting a career-high six points and pulling down three rebounds.
The Tigers are now 6-0 on the road this season and have played only three home games thus far. Missouri hosts it's next four games starting Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. with Illinois State.
